In a metal case, the ZGSD40-JY (TY) Three-phase Power Supply SPD has a beautiful appearance and convenient installation and connection, characterized by the overcurrent protection, trip of thermal fusing, and failure indication, lightning count, remote signaling. In case of lightning surges on incoming services, the lightning protection components inside the SPD will enter into a “Low Impedance” state with a response speed of nanosecond level, to discharge the lightning current to the earth; the overvoltage caused by lightning will be limited within a voltage range in which electric equipment can withstand, to ensure secure operation. It is mainly suitable for lightning protection of power supply used in the postal and telecommunications services, banks, broadcast television, airports, chemical industry, etc.

    1 Before installation, check if the SPD is damaged. And then use the multimeter (definitely not the tramegger) to measure if the resistance values among L1, L2, L3, N and PE are normal: The resistance values between L1/L2/L3/N and PE should be infinite, and those between L1/L2/L3 and N should be greater than 100kΩ.     
    2 After fixing the SPD, connect it to the power supply of protected equipment according to the marks on the connecting terminal. The insulated copper wire with the cross-sectional area ≥ 6mm2 and withstand voltage not lower than AC500V should be used, as short as possible.  
    3 After all the connections, switch on the power supply if everything is alright. The indicator turns to “Green”, showing the normal working of SPD. 
    4 For the SPD, the indicating circuit power is from the L3, N phase, and only if L1, L2, L3, and N are all connected well, the “Green” indicator is on. On switching on the power supply, if the indicator of SPD is still off, check if the L3, N phases are connected properly, and if the “Red” indicator is on, check if the L1 and L2 phases are connected properly. 

    Usage and Maintenance
    1 The circuit is set with thermal fusing and overcurrent protection. During normal working, the indicator shows “Green”; when the SPD components degrade even are out of use, the internal temperature controlled switch is automatically detached, the indicator shows “Red”, and the working status of monitoring contacts changes (normally open → closed; normally closed → open). 
    2 The product needs no special maintenance during normal use. Because it always has uninterrupted power supply, periodically check its working conditions, especially after lightning. If it is found that the indicator shows “Red” or the working status of monitoring contacts changes (normally open → closed; normally closed → open), the SPD should be changed immediately.  
    3 The grounding system of the SPD should be checked at any moment in normal use, especially in lightning seasons, to keep it in a good state all the time. Otherwise, the lightning protection effect of the SPD will be influenced more or less. When the grounding wire PE opens, the SPD will lose its protective effect. 
    4 Note: The live wire and null wire cannot be reversed.
