Extreme Announces First Integrated Solution Following Avaya Acquisition
In July, we announced the close of Extreme’s acquisition of Avaya’s networking business. Just a few short weeks later, I’m proud to introduce Extreme’s Automated Campus solution, our first product that integrates some of the best technologies from Avaya and Extreme to have combined offerings for our customers and partners.
I am very pleased that the team continues to perform ahead of plan. We have fully integrated the Zebra WLAN business into Extreme – where WiNG and ExtremeWireless are growing faster than the market and taking share – and our wireless roadmap is stronger than it’s ever been. Similarly, our announcement this week is another proof point where Extreme is taking the best of Avaya and Extreme to provide a truly integrated solution for our customers and partners – again, ahead of plan. This is fantastic news and a testament to the preparation and collaboration of our combined engineering and PLM teams.
The solution speaks to our commitment to customers and partners, and further separates us from competitors. From being named a visionary in Gartner’s Wired and Wireless Access LAN Magic Quadrant, a top vendor in Gartner’s Critical Capabilitiesreport and Gartner’s #1 rated customer service and support organization in the marketplace, we are continually recognized for our innovative solutions, performance and service. We’re confident that our Avaya integration and our upcoming Brocade data center networking acquisition only enhances our unique offering, positioning us to continue to deliver more value to our customers.
Our Automated Campus solution is the first of its kind and offers our customers and partners the benefits of a combined value prop. By leveraging best-in-class networking (Fabric Connect), industry-leading network management, access control and analytics software (Extreme Management Center) and our #1 ranked service, Extreme’s Automated Campus solution is designed to:
- Simplify - Eliminate network complexity while increasing agility;
- Secure - Augment network security;
- Provide Intelligence – 360-degree view of the network to optimize quality of experience
With our Automated Campus solution, we can now deliver a consistent policy-based fabric infrastructure from core to edge that has a complete 360-degree view of the network and zero touch security features. It’s a solution we’re excited about and we’re confident it will drive partner sales and meet end users’ needs in managing the expansive IoT landscape.
Over the next 15 months, we’ll launch a three-phased approach to fully integrate Extreme Management Center (EMC) as well as IDE across Avaya’s entire networking portfolio by early 2019. Automated Campus is part of the first phase, which also includes adding Fabric Connect into Extreme’s access points and operating systems in the next six months. It’s an impressive timeline of new offerings that we plan to bring to market, again reflecting our commitment to a speedy integration and superior performance.
As we work to integrate Avaya’s portfolio and look toward our upcoming close of the Brocade deal, we’ll share our long-term integration strategy during a series of webinars and our first ever User Conference, which will take place in April 2018. For our partners, we look forward to discussing how the integration will provide them with additional solutions to share with end users and increase revenue streams during our upcoming Global Partner Summit in October. We’ll also be sharing more around new enhancements to the partner program that will support their sales channels. We’re proud to deliver on the promise we made to partners and customers, and look forward to continued success and growth over the next year.
