How to install BTS (Base Transceiver Station) safely – How is electrical system set up?

When installing BTS System, electrical system needs noticing. How to set up electrical system safely for BTS is shown as below.

There are two electrical systems need installing is AC and DC, the ways of installing these two systems are below:

1. AC power system:

- There must check carefully about connecting principles (it will be mentioned in next part), phase orders, cord color according to the rules, cord dimensions as designed.

+ The cross section of power cord from electric Automat  to the main automat: 2x16 mm² (using CADIVI cables)

+ The cross section of power cord from automat 63A in the main rack cabinet provided for REC cabinet: 5x6 mm²

+ Cross section of power cord using for air-conditioner and residential electricity (neon lights, sockets,…): 2x2.5 mm²

+ Cord color as ruled:

- Black: neutral cord (N)

- Red: Phase cord (L)

- Yellow/green: grounding cord (PE)

- There must test AC Power system meeting the following indicators:

a. Power system uses Lioa stabilizers, MPT54 cabinet:

i. Before stabilizing: Voltage:  220 ± 20% (VAC)

Frequency: 50 ± 5% (Hz)

ii. After stabilizing: Voltage: 220± 5% (VAC)

Frequency: 50 ± 5% (Hz)

b. Power system doesn’t use stabilizers, MP75 cabinet (the cabinet has a large range stabilizers):

Voltage: 90 – 285 (VAC)

Frequency: 50 ± 5% (Hz)

2. DC Power System

- Test the polarity of OV bars -48V corresponding to the polarity of battery,

- Negative Terminal (-) of each battery group connects to the fuse.

-  Positive terminal directly connects to copper bar in the power cabinet,

-  Output voltage of DC power cabinets: (48-56) V, normally is 54 V,

- Test the voltage of accu sets: 48 - 55V, normally is 54 V without loading; 48V with loading,

- Test the voltage between positive terminal (0V) and grounding cord (PE) ) » 0V,

- The cross section of the cord from the DC power cabinet provides BTS: > 16 mm²
