BTS is a Telecoms Infrastructure which is used to provide wireless communications between devices of telecommunications subscribers and network operators. The subscriber equipment may be mobile phone, wireless internet device while the network operator might be GSM, CDMA mobile network or a TDMA base system.
A typical BTS includes: A Base Transceiver (TRX) in order to handle transmission and signals receiving, send and receive signals from higher network elements; a combination will combine RSS feeds from a number of base stations to be sent through a single antenna thereby reducing the number of antennas which need to be installed; a power amplifier helps to amplify the signal from the base station to transmit information via the antenna; a duplexer is used to separate the sending and receiving signals from the antennas or from an antenna which is partially outside of the BTS.
