USE UPS PROPERLY AND EFFECTIVELY

Use UPS properly and effectively

Currently, the use of UPS to overcome problems caused by power sources is the most effective measure for electrical equipment. However, not everyone knows how to use UPS properly and effectively. Therefore, in this article, T.A.T gives important notes about the UPS so you can use it safely and effectively.

Step1: Determine the location of the UPS

  - The UPS must be placed in cool, dry areas and should be kept away from obstacles around 40cm or more to make the heat escape as easy as possible, avoid installing the UPS in the environment where contains lots of dust and metal dust.

- Avoiding obstructions obscuring the heat vents of the UPS, even installing the UPS directly on soft carpets can also prevent heat escape holes of the UPS.

- Do not place the UPS unit near places having heat sources and areas where there is direct sunlight.

- Do not leave UPS in a place with high humidity and near water, chemical sources or ocean steam.

Step 2: Note when starting

1. Please charge about 16 hours of grid electricity for the UPS when:

- Before plugging in the device for the first time of usage.

- Immediately after each power outage and UPS has run battery power.

- UPS is stored or inactive for more than 1 month.

2. The power unit should be turned off at the end of each day of usage or when not in use.

3. Must turn off the power in accordance with its order:

- Turn off the equipment plugged into the UPS first-> then turn off the UPS -> and finally turn off the switch.

4. In an environment with stable air conditioners, about 06 months periodically you should let the UPS operates with battery at least once is the best.

5. In areas where there is no stable air conditioner, it is recommended that every 3 months, you should let the UPS operates with a battery power at least once to ensure quality.

6. Do not allow the UPS to operate with battery power until the power in the battery is exhausted, the UPS automatically turns off.

 8. When the UPS has completely discharged the battery, you should not try to restart it to operate with battery power again, but you must charge the UPS immediately before using it again.

 9. Do not plug the load device such as motor, printer, fan ... into the offline UPS, but plug these devices directly into the public electricity power.
