The Standard installation procedure of cable ladders & cable trays

The Standard installation procedure of cable ladders and cable trays is presented in this article, which will help you so much. To know more about details of the standard installation of cable ladders and cable trays, please read the article below.

In industrial field, cable trays are used to support and distribute types of electrical cables with a large quantity. Cable Trays are chosen to replace for external wiring and piping systems in order to protect the cables and make cables to be durable and easy to put wires inside. External wiring system is easily changeable but easily broken, too.  Moreover, piping system is protected. However, adding or removing cables will cause huge problems. Below is the process of cable ladders and cable trays installation:

Step 1: Check every component

Before installing cable ladders, there must make sure that you have all of necessary materials. Not all the parts of cable ladders are the same, so there must check all of accessories. In almost cases, the set of cable ladders and cable trays contains a certain quantity of ladders, cable brackets are used to cover outside. (Although the important thing we should notice is some devices don’t contain hooks), adapter brackets, foundation brackets, grounding straps and a large quantity of nuts, washers and bolts.

Step 2: Cut the ladders and bracket according to the size

Unless cables and brackets have exact dimensions, you need to cut to have appropriate dimensions by using cable saw. Each ladder is cut 2 inches more than the length that you need. Be careful when cutting because it is made of quiet sharp metal and your hand maybe cut.

Step 3: Fix the ladder on diaphragm walls

Mount base brackets on diaphragm walls, or other supporting positions for your cable ladders. Normally, brackets are mounted on the walls to link together. If not, you need to drill a hole inside the wall with the appropriate dimensions to mount on the walls. Next, insert the adapter brackets in the holes on top of each cable ladder. Ensure the hooks on the adapter brackets on the right downwards, and cable ladders on the upwards direction. Once you have brackets setting up on the walls and adapter brackets inside cable ladders, you can mount the ladders in the middle of the walls.

Step 4: Fix the brackets of cable ladders & cable trays

This step is rather simple. Most modern ladder brackets are simply pinned to the ladder without installing any things. Ensure the brackets to be safe before you do the next steps because a bracket with low safety will cause high level of risk. In the rare case that a ladder bracket requires additional installation, it is often simply mounted the cable ladder brackets with ladders with nuts, bolts and washers.

Step 5: Grounding your ladder and cable trays

Grounding cable trays is a very important thing in preventing from electrocution. Although the content of technical specs doesn’t require grounding, this is a good idea in all cases because it can stop the risks in the future. Each coating or cable ladder rack need to be grounded. First, joining your platform brackets and put cable trays at a point near the wall. Next, Next, mount your grounding straps to the platform brackets using nuts. Finally, mount grounding straps to one of the grounding points on the wall.

Cable ladders are the type of cable trays having support cables and electrical wires attached; the structure is as same as the steps. Unlike outside wiring systems and piping systems, cable trays both protect cables and provide easy entrance if you need to change anything. Using the above information, you can easily install cable ladders.
