LEARNING ABOUT REMOTE UPS MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Surely the current UPS device is no longer strange to everyone. Because it is the savior for electrical equipment when the power grid has an incident. UPS is currently used in many areas of life such as for server, server, security, or medical devices. Most dedicated types of UPS are used quite easily, but for stations with large capacity UPS devices, it is not always possible to monitor the activities. To overcome this limitation, a remote UPS management system was born. UPS management software is an important part because it allows to manage and warn when there is a power failure and set the time to turn off the device to be safe ... Remote control function will help them to increase work efficiency significantly.

General features of remote management system

This software is included with UPS equipment when purchasing or purchasing a Webpower Card for system administration. It has the following basic features:

+ Remote UPS system control: We can set up UPS parameters at any machines with the same network, making it easier to manage.

+ Monitoring the operation status of the UPS system: Managing all activities of the UPS to see if it operates stably, promptly notify when an error occurs to solve the problem in time. Record events such as the status of voltage, load usage, frequency, and temperature of UPS to help the system administration to be easy for maintenance and warranty when necessary.

+ Automatic: The system will automatically turn on and off according to the time scheduled by the operator when there is a problem, it will be sent to everyone. Automatically check UPS for a preset time.

+ Auto-backup data: The system can close the running applications and save them with the corresponding files when there is a power problem, when the power is out in the battery or as programmed before, minimize data loss when using UPS.

+ Automatic Shutdown: When the power is lost, the system will send a notice to the machines connected via LAN, the system will maintain the operation within the time scheduled by the operator. It will then automatically backup the working data and turn off the system in absolute safety.

+ Friendly interface: All parameters to be checked will be displayed on the same UPS management window. This integrated system works well on operating systems such as linux, windows, apple mac os, controls UPS with RJ45 port, supports HTTP; SNMP ...

How to remotely control the UPS:

Most software fully supports the features as mentioned above, but in terms of working mechanism in the network, each one is different. There is software that only supports LANs, with programs that allow control over the WAN. Here are some software you can consult:

+ Included with UPS PCM VGD-3000 is UPSMON-Plus for single and UPSMON-Plus Network management via LAN. This software only fully supports control features for networked computers, sharing the same UPS; With other devices, this software can only send notifications. The computer connected directly to the UPS via RS232 interface that will be installed the UPSMON-Plus Network Server version, the remaining machines will be installed the slave version, support more functions than the UPSmart Client, which allows more flexible management.

+ UPSmart comes with the Numeric Digital UPS HP 3000 (ID: A0512_58) operating according to the server mechanism in the client management by notifying and controlling client shutdown after a predetermined time. The client version simply works as a service running in the background.

+ UPSilon comes with UPS Socomec Sicon UPS with a mechanism similar to Winpower Manager but it only supports LAN, the interface is quite nice and intuitive.

+ Winpower Manager is a fairly powerful program that comes with Numeric Digital 1000 Plus UPS UPS. All computers on the network that have this program have equal permissions. Of course, to be able to use the program from any machines, this requires a password and must be approved by the administrator. The program also supports WAN.
